Qinggan Traditional Pastry Shop – A Century of Sweet Heritage in Liugui
Founded during the Japanese colonial era, Qinggan Traditional Pastry Shop is one of the oldest traditional confectionery stores in Liugui, Kaohsiung. Operated by generations of the Tsai family, the shop has a history that spans over a hundred years.
The founder, Mr. Tsai Qing-Lie, journeyed to Penghu in his early years to study the art of Japanese pastry-making. Upon returning to his hometown, he established Qinggan in Liugui, combining traditional craftsmanship with locally sourced ingredients.
Through his dedication, he created a beloved selection of nostalgic pastries that became neighborhood favorites — and began a sweet chapter in Liugui’s culinary memory.
